Cowboys Had ‘Legitimate' Interest in Manziel: Report

Johnny Manziel appears to have been right about the Cowboys being interested in him.

And according to a Sports Illustrated report citing league sources, at least two teams — one being the Cowboys — had legitimate interest in Manziel as recently as early January. That was before the alleged assault on his ex-girlfriend. The league sources said Manziel now is "untouchable" unless he seeks treatment.

The Dallas Morning News' David Moore reported last week that the Cowboys have no intention of bringing the former Heisman Trophy winner in for a visit or signing him now that he's been released by Cleveland.
