Charges Sought in Crash that Killed MTV Hopeful

The surviving driver of an October car crash that killed a Joshua woman who appears on the MTV reality show  "A Double Shot of Love" may face street-racing charges, the Star-Telegram reported today.

Twenty-two-year old Kandice Ann Hutchison  was killed in the early hours of October 21 when she lost control of her 2004 Nissan 350Z on Airport Freeway in Euless, police said.  Hutchison, who was not wearing a seat belt and had a blood-alcohol content three times higher than the legal limit, was ejected from her vehicle and died at the scene, according to police.

Euless police plan to ask the Tarrant County district attorney to consider charges against the other driver, 29-year-old Benjamin Michael Rowell, of Fort Worth.  Rowell was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the crash.

According to police, Hutchinson drove her Nissan into Rowell's 2008 Mazda 6 after both cars passed a Ford Mustang at about 2:30 a.m.

Taping of the MTV reality show had concluded when Hutchison was killed.  The first episode, in which 12 "hot straight guys" and 12 "sexy lesbians" vie for the affections of the "Ikki Twins," twin sisters who are bisexual and models aired on December 9.  Hutchison's death was not addressed in the first episode, but MTV told the Star-Telegram that the network plans to air a tribute to Hutchison this season.
