Copeville Tornado Survivor Marks Recovery Milestone

A Copeville tornado survivor is marking a major milestone in her recovery by returning to work nearly four months after her husband was killed.

Tina and Jerry Funderburk celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary just days before an EF2 twister hit their home on the day after Christmas.

She said she had just gotten home from work when the tornado hit.

"The house just started kind of shaking, but breathing, and my husband grabbed me and told me, 'Whatever you, do don't let go,'" she said. "And that's all I remember."

Tina Funderburk didn't find out she'd also lost her husband until she left the ICU five days after the tornado.

"I didn't even get to tell him goodbye," she said through tears.

After months in a wheelchair, Tina Funderburk is now back on her feet, working a couple hours per day at The Sale hardware store in Nevada.

"We lost our house, everything," she said.

She said her family, friends and now some familiar faces are helping her get past the pain one day at a time.
