Convention Ctr. Hotel Pushes Early Voting in Dallas

Election Day isn't until Saturday, but the controversial taxpayer-financed convention center hotel is being attributed as the primary reason for a high early voter turnout in Dallas County.

So far, more than 57,000 people have cast early ballots in Dallas County.  While that is a lot more than anticipated, it represents only 14 percent of registered voters for the county.

In Tarrant County, nearly 24,000 people have voted early.

Voting ends at 7 p.m. Saturday for all municipal elections.  Results will be available on NBCDFW.com.
