am extremely proud of my sister, Dr. Aaliyah Miranda, who will be graduating this Friday, May 10th with a doctorate in education and educational administration from Texas A&M-Commerce, she will be among the 1% of U.S. Latinas with a doctorate degree. She has always been an inspiration to me and my family. She overcame so many obstacles, from being a teenage mother at the age of 17 to being an abusive relationship for 8 years to then finally divorcing her children's father and becoming a domestic violence survivor. She persevered through it all and this Friday she will graduate as Dr. Aaliyah Miranda. You can read more about her story in the current issue of Infórmate DFW magazine https://informatedfw.com/current-issue/
