Colorado Snowstorm Cancels Dozens of Flights Between North Texas, Denver

A major snowstorm in Colorado has closed Denver International Airport Wednesday, delaying or canceling dozens of flights in North Texas.

According to FlightAware, seven Southwest Airlines flights out of Dallas Love Field to Denver International were canceled Wednesday due to weather and five return flights were canceled.

At Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, American, United, Frontier, Sky West and Spirit airlines collectively canceled 13 flights to Denver, according to FlightAware.

Additionally, 13 flights to DFW from DEN were also canceled; five currently remain on the schedule for Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Some flights still show as delayed or scheduled out of DFW, but that will change if Denver is unable to reopen.

Denver International tweeted just after noon Central Time that the airport would close until further notice due to weather and visibility. The airport tweeted that once it was safe for aircraft to arrive and depart, the airport would reopen.

Passengers stuck at the Denver airport are advised to shelter in place.
