A Collin County dad whose baby died after being left in a hot car was found guilty of criminally negligent homicide.
The jury of eight men and four women deliberated for nearly five hours Friday before reaching a unanimous decision after a week of evidence involving Michael Thedford, 35. His baby girl died of heat stroke after being left for hours in the family's minivan.
Jurors found him not guilty of tampering with evidence after he briefly placed his daughter in the refrigerator to cool her down. The jury also decided Thedford was guilty of abandoning or endangering a child, but prosecutors announced that they would abandon that count.
