Residents asked to conserve water, curtail outdoor watering Thursday

A large water main break in Colleyville scheduled to be repaired by Saturday was completed Friday morning.

City spokeswoman Mona Gandy said crews worked through the night to find and repair the leak on the main distribution line from the Trinity River Authority.

"This was a major undertaking and full restoration will take another 24 hours," she said.

Cheek-Sparger Road was closed to through traffic during repairs Thursday. Drivers traveling west on Cheek-Sparger Road were diverted to Bedford Road while those traveling east were diverted to Brown Trail.

Residents in the area were asked to conserve water until the main was repaired.
