Web Site Tracks Dallas' Stimulus Fund Spending

For those wondering where the city of Dallas' millions of dollars in federal stimulus funds are going, they have created a convenient new Web site to keep track.

The city is hoping to receive over $400 million before the money runs out, but many of the grants they are applying for are extremely competitive, so they might not see all of that.

To date, they have allocated $86.8 million. Another $364 is available in the form of competitive grant funding.

"ARRA funding is available for a wide range of projects including infrastructure improvements, technology upgrades, energy efficiency, job training, law enforcement, housing, and health care," according to the site.

They also promise to continue to update the site and add tools that will allow visitors to track and monitor the progress of the projects the funds allow them to undertake, so hang on to your hats.
