Christmas Dinner Served to Soldiers at D/FW Airport

This Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, members of the military and veterans traveling through Dallas Fort Worth International Airport will find a surprise waiting for them thanks to the USO.

While thousands of men and women who have served this country are excited to make their way home for the holidays, many of them will also be exhausted from a day of travel.

To make this easier on them and their families, food service and hospitality company Delaware North is providing them with a traditional Christmas dinner.

"What better way than to give them a little Christmas cheer as they travel home to their families and loved ones," said Michael Kowan, with Delaware North.

The company is thanking the military for their service by serving holiday meals.

"It's always good to feel that family atmosphere when you're kind of away from home," said Carlos Moreno.

Veteran Jim Cichenski knows that feeling all too well. He is now retired but he serves with the USO.

"When I got out I said that if ever had an opportunity to pay back appropriately I would, and that's why I'm in the USO," said Cichenski.
