Child Sexual Assault Convict Sentenced to 693 Years in Prison

A West Texas jury that convicted a Midland man of repeatedly sexually assaulting a child has decided he should serve nearly 700 years in prison.

Jurors on Thursday gave Kelley Alexander Lewis 99 years in prison for each of seven counts of sexual assault of a child.

Prosecutors say the attacks on a family member under the age of 14 took place over a nearly four-month period in 2014.

The range of punishment on the conviction was five to 99 years. Midland County prosecutors say jurors who decided Lewis deserved the maximum, totaling 693 years, also decided he should be fined $10,000 for each count.
