Chicken Recall Includes Product Sold in Texas

Foster Farms is pulling 39,747 pounds of chicken strips off store shelves, but they could still be in your freezer.

The 3 1/2 pound resealable bags of frozen Chicken Breast Grilled Strips may be contaminated with listeria, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The bags have a plant code of P-33901 and a best-by date of Aug. 5, 2015.

The strips were sold in Texas at Costco, as well as warehouse locations in California, Utah and Washington.

So far, there have been no reports of illnesses, but older adults, as well as people with weakened immune systems, pregnant women and newborns are particularly at risk of listeriosis.

If you find the strips in your freezer, take the bag back to the store for a refund.
