Some Charges in Driveway Robberies Downgraded

Dallas police say aggravated robbery charges against two people accused of committing a series of driveway robberies will be reclassified.

Officials with the Dallas Police Department said a search of the vehicle in use by 27-year-old Santana Andrews and 51-year-old Charles Hunt when they were arrested revealed a toy gun that was believed to have been used in at least one of the robberies.

According to police, since the gun isn't real, the charge of aggravated robbery is being reduced to robbery.

Dallas police detectives filed an additional charge of aggravated robbery in connection with driveway robberies where a knife was used as a weapon.

The pair are being held on bond of $1,282,000 each.

Detectives with the Dallas Police Department continue to investigate similar offenses to see if they are related.
