Central Texas Man Accused of Trying to Sell Drugs to Child

A 19-year-old Central Texas man is accused of trying to sell $175 worth of drugs to a 12-year-old child.

Arrest documents said that the child's mother read text messages on the child's phone and notified police in Lakeway.

The Houston Chronicle reported that an officer began posing as the child on the child's phone. The officer set up a meeting in a local park with the man.

Upon meeting, the man admitted he had gone to the park to sell marijuana and simulated LSD to the child.

The man was arrested Nov. 25 on charges of delivery of a controlled substance to a child. He remained in the Travis County Jail on $20,000 bond Tuesday.

It was not immediately clear whether the man has an attorney.
