In a Facebook post, police said a 71-year-old woman was the victim of a carjacking Aug. 5.

After being arrested, the thief told police he had pushed the woman's dog, a white Staffordshire Terrier named Pinki, out of the vehicle in the area of A.V. Cato Elementary School and Palmetto Street.

Several days later Pinki still has not been found, and her owner "is desperate to have Pinki returned to her," police said.

Pinki has a pink belly, pointed ears and a pink collar.

Fort Worth police said Thursday morning that Pinki had been found and returned, but they said shortly after the announcement that the dog found was not Pinki.
