President George W. Bush hit the golf course at Dallas National Golf Club Thursday morning, teeing up Patriot Golf Day.
More than 4,000 golf courses will ask golfers to pay an extra dollar over the Labor Day weekend, with the money raised going to scholarships for families of military service members killed or disabled in the line of duty.
"All you golfers out there that are playing, make sure you give an additional dollar to help our vets. That's the least we can do," Bush said.
It's the second year that Bush has served as honorary chairman of the nationwide fundraising program for the Folds of Honor Foundation.
Nearly 60 golf courses in North Texas are taking part in Patriot Golf Day.
