Bush Library Going to Court, Again

The property dispute pitting former condominium owners against Southern Methodist University over the site of George W. Bush's presidential library is returning to court.

The two former condo owners and SMU lawyers are expected to be in a Dallas courtroom Friday arguing over a deal that fell through this week that would have ended the clash.

Condo owners Gary Vodicka and Robert Tafel appeared to settle their lawsuits last month. But both men backed out this week, saying SMU tried to expand the deal beyond its original terms.

SMU attorneys say the men are trying to get more money.

The lawsuits accuse SMU of illegally taking control of a condo complex and forcing out the residents to make room for Bush's library. The school denies the allegations.
