An overnight fire ravaged a west Fort Worth restaurant, leaving the owner unsure of when he can reopen and several brides scrambling for a new reception location.
Firefighters first arrived at Piola, on the 3700 block of Mattison Avenue near Camp Bowie, just after midnight. The restaurant had been closed just two hours before the fire started in a storage area, the Star-Telegram reported.
Bobby Albanese, the restaurant's owner, told the Star-Telegram that he had booked about a half-dozen wedding receptions at his restaurant and isn't sure when he will be able to reopen.
The fire left the walls standing, but the roof collapsed and caused an estimated $700,000 in damage, according to Lt. Kent Worley of the Fort Worth Fire Department.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
