A boil water notice and Stage 4 water restrictions in effect in Blue Mound were rescinded Friday afternoon after water tests indicated the water was suitable for consumption.
Monarch Utilities ordered the boil water notice after a well failed earlier this week. As a result, a new pump had to be installed and, out of an abundance of caution, a boil water notice was issued.
“We are proud of the company’s swift response in investigating the well failure and putting in a
new pump; many, many staff members have worked around-the-clock to have the pump installed
so expeditiously,” Ryan Quigley, director of operations, Texas Utilities West, said in a news releaes. “We apologize to customers for this inconvenience, and we are pleased to return to our typical uninterrupted service.”
