A Friday afternoon cruise on a new boat turned into a water rescue for two men in Dallas.
It happened at the water-filled old rock quarry north of Interstate 30 and west of Loop 12/ Walton Walker.
Two men were out testing out a new aluminum boat one of the men got for his birthday when the wind whipped up and flipped the boat, according to Jason Evans with Dallas Fire-Rescue.

Both men were tossed from the boat but were able to flip the boat back over and reboard. Back on board, the boat had taken on water and the men weren't able to get back to shore.
Swift water rescue crews were called in and rescued the two men and towed the boat back to shore.
Neither of the men were injured or required transport to the hospital.
