A lawsuit has been filed against Bexar County, its sheriff's office and two deputies who fatally shot a man who appeared in a video of the incident to have his hands raised.
The San Antonio Express-News reports the family of 41-year-old Gilbert Flores filed the lawsuit Monday. The lawsuit claims Flores' civil rights were violated.
One video shows him with his arms raised before the deputies opened fire. Investigators say a second video shows Flores holding a knife.
The sheriff's office has declined to release the second video. The lawsuit wants a court order directing the sheriff's office to keep it in its original form.
The lawsuit seeks damages, including funeral expenses for Flores.
The county and sheriff's officials told the newspaper they do not comment on pending litigation.
