Bennigan's Returning to Texas

Bennigan's restaurants may soon return to North Texas.

According to a post in D Magazine's RealPoints blog, the franchise group that bought out the bankrupt chain is looking to open more than 30 restaurants in Texas -- where the chain originally began decades ago at the hands of restauranteur Norman Brinker.

The plans call for 10 restaurants each in Dallas and Houston, five each in Austin and San Antonio as well as other locations in smaller cities.

The new restaurants don't look like the old Bennigan's you may remember however.  They'll follow a new prototype launched by the franchise group last fall in Appleton, Wisc.

The group is using Henry S. Miller to scout locations for restaurants and a training facility.
