Belk Flagship Store Opens at Galleria Dallas April 9

Galleria Dallas lost Saks Fifth Avenue in June but it's gaining a Belk flagship store in April.

The signature Belk "petal" sign went up Wednesday on the west-facing façade of the three-story location in Dallas.

In January 2013, Belk and Galleria Dallas announced a joint invest of $20 million into construction improvements to the building.

Construction on the space once occupied by Saks Fifth Avenue began last summer.

Belk Galleria Dallas will hold its grand opening on April 9. It's the first flagship store in Texas. Other Belk flagship locations include Raleigh, Charlotte and Atlanta.

Belk has 13 smaller-format stores in Texas and has plans for more growth in the area.

The Galleria Dallas flagship store will feature upscale, premium brands that are unique to the area.
