Cowboys QB Dak Prescott: β€˜Beasley is Always Open'

Cole Beasley leads the Cowboys in most receiving statistics.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott jokes that wide receiver Cole "Beasley is always open."

Always?

"Maybe not always, but I'd like to think more often than not," Beasley, the fifth-year pro from SMU, said with a laugh.

And if he's definitely open and Prescott doesn't see it, Beasley will give the quarterback an earful.

"Oh, for sure. Anytime I run around that open and he doesn't see me, I let him know about it," Beasley jokingly said.

No Cowboys pass catcher has helped out the young rookie quarterback more than Beasley. He leads the team in every meaningful category with 13 grabs, 18 targets and 140 yards through two games.

Beasley also leads the team in touchdowns with zero. The Cowboys haven't registered a touchdown pass to this point.

The attention wide receiver Dez Bryant and tight end Jason Witten receive from defenders helps Beasley work in the middle of the field. Combining that with the SMU alum's ability to get open makes it an easy throw-and-catch for Prescott. The quarterback recognized Beasley's talent immediately.

"Probably the first week I was drafted. I watched Beasley, I talked about Beasley, how good he is, how quick he is. He's a guy who you get him the ball in space and he can make things happen," said Prescott.

"I haven't really been doing anything different. He's just found me and he's doing a great job," said Beasley.

The Cowboys host the Chicago Bears on NBC's Sunday Night Football, Sunday at 7:30 p.m. on NBC 5.
