Avon Products has recalled nearly 27,000 nut choppers due to weaknesses in product grinding mechanisms.
The company said fragments may fall into the food being chopped, posing a risk of injury to consumers.
The recall was made after seven reporters were made of the chopper breaking or bending, including two incidents where fragments were found in the food being prepared. There were no reports of injuries.
The nut choppers were sold by independent Avon sales representatives nationwide and online from June 2013 to December 2013.
The company asked consumers to stop using the product and return it for a full refund. Avon Products can be reached toll-free at 877-217-5076 or 877-217-5077 for help in Spanish. Calls can be made between 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
