Aurora Lights Up the Dallas Arts District

The biennial event, Aurora, takes over the Dallas Arts District Friday.

The expansive art event takes over the entire 19-block Arts District from One Arts Plaza to Klyde Warren Park.

Friday night, downtown Dallas will be transformed into one of the country's largest outdoor showcases for art featuring interactive and immersive displays.

Eighty artists from around the world will transform the urban downtown space into innovative art. Some of the installations include live performances at specific times.

AURORA Illuminates Dallas Arts District

In 2013, Aurora attracted more than 30,000 visitors to downtown Dallas and organizers hope to top that this year.

Aurora, powered by Reliant, starts at 7 p.m. and goes until 2 a.m.

A free mobile app for iOS and Android devices will help visitors navigate the art as well as find food and beverage stations, restrooms and transportation options. Search "Aurora Dallas" in the App Store or Google Play.
