Arrest Warrant Issued for Suspect in Pregnant Woman Murder

Dallas police have issued a warrant for the man believed to have shot and killed a pregnant woman and her unborn child inside of her Oak Cliff home on Saturday night.

A capital murder warrant was issued for Ka'Darius Demond Barrett, 20, on Monday. Barrett remains at large.

Dallas police said the shooting happened at about 7 p.m. in the 6600 block of Cool Morn Drive. The location, near Bonnie View Road, was a known drug smoke house and was occupied by several people who witnessed the shooting, according to Dallas police.

Police said the witnesses saw Barrett enter the house and shoot 28-year-old Stephanie Terlisner once in the chest.

Police said Terlisner was six months pregnant. She was transported to Baylor Hospital in Dallas where she and her unborn child died.

In the arrest warrant, investigators said a witness inside the home saw Barrett enter the home and begin yelling at other individuals in the home about being set up for a robbery on Friday evening. The witness told police they had interacted with Barret, who used the nickname "KD," previously, and that he often carried a weapon.

In the arrest warrant, the witness said they heard a gunshot and found Terlisner bleeding in the living room of the home with a single gunshot wound to her chest.
