Armed Man Sexually Assaults Woman in Dallas Parking Garage: Police

Dallas police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a woman in a parking garage overnight Thursday.

Around midnight, police said the woman was walking through the lower level of the parking garage of her apartment complex on the 2700 block of Howell Street when she exchanged pleasantries with a man while walking to an elevator. At a news conference Friday afternoon, Dallas police said they will step up patrols in the area.

Detectives are also searching for surveillance video to help identify the suspect.

Residents of the Amli Quadrangle complex, where it happened, say they received an email from management notifying them that a woman was sexually assaulted at gunpoint.

"Iโ€™m still like shaking. Iโ€™m like, I get home from class late at night sometimes, Iโ€™m in grad school, and I thought I was safe to go up to my apartment by myself," said tenant Allison Stoker.

The woman described her attacker as black, about 30 years old and unshaven. He was estimated to be 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a gray durag, dark T-shirt, a light-colored jacket, gray sweat pants and older athletic shoes.
