The contest is sponsored by the North Texas Laboratory Analyst Section of the Texas Water Utilities Association, who announced Arlington as the winner in the "best tasting surface water" category at the North Central Texas Regional School Best Tasting Water competition.
Surface water is considered as the water used by Arlington residents and many urban communities, says the city of Arlington in a press release. This type of water comes from lakes, rivers and streams.

Not a small achievement and one that we certainly appreciate.”
