Arlington to Miss Out on Cash Scavenger Hunt

The City of Arlington will not be a part of this year's money giveaway by Stacey Monroe.

"As bad I don't want to say this, I am going to have to cancel Arlington," Monroe said.

Monroe is a transgendered woman hoping to present a large act of kindness to North Texas. She began the Dallas scavenger hunt for cash at Victory Park with $250.

Ten envelopes filled with cash, ranging from $20 to $40, were placed throughout the park for people to find.

Monroe tweeted out clues as to where the money was hidden under the Twitter handle @hiddencashdfw.

After hundreds of people gathered at the park for a chance to find the free money, Monroe decided to bring the search to more North Texas cities.

Arlington, however, was skipped. Arlington police requested special event permitting from Monroe.

Declining the request, Monroe's response was, "It's time consuming and I would like to get have to next one as soon as possible!"

She will now be taking votes via Twitter for the final city of this year's scavenger hunt.
