Arlington Police Make Second Arrest in School Shooting Threat

Arlington police say a second teenager is in custody after two Arlington Independent School District campuses received threats posted online Tuesday.

Police said they arrested a 15-year-old student from Bowie High School on Friday in relation to the threats posted on the Kik social media platform earlier this week. The identity of the boy, due to his age, will remain confidential.

On Wednesday evening, Arlington police arrested 17-year-old Shalaria Jones in connection to the threats. Jones, who is also a student at Bowie, is being held on a $10,000 bond at the Tarrant County Jail.

Police said the arrests were made after threats were posted online directed at students at Bowie and Sam Houston high schools.

Arlington police said earlier this week that a student at Sam Houston High School was also a person of interest.

As of this writing, no other arrests have been made.
