Apparent Burglary Attempt at Family Dollar Store

Dallas police are searching for a man who attempted to rob a Family Dollar store.

Police said the man walked into the Family Dollar store at 1300 Greenville Avenue in Dallas, went to the counter and passed the clerk a note that indicated that he had a gun and was robbing the store.

As more customers entered the store he became agitated and apparently grew tired of waiting for the clerk and left the store.

It is unclear at this point whether or not he actually had a gun or if he stole any merchandise or cash.

The man was described as black and between 40 and 50 years old. He wore a black polo shirt with white trim on the collar and an emblem on the left breast, a black baseball cap and black pants.

If you or someone you know has information as to the identity of this person, call Detective P. Sparacino with the Dallas Police Department at 214-671-3666.
