Texting while driving is now illegal in Farmers Branch.
City leaders passed the law this week.
The new law bans drivers from sending or reading texts, emails, social media or the Internet while behind the wheel.
The exception — GPS navigation with voice-activated directions.
There will be a 90-day grace period, then violators could be ticketed.
Texting while driving bans are already in place in Arlington and Grand Prairie.
