Anonymous Threat of Violence Made Against Granbury School: Officials

Extra police will be at Granbury High School Thursday after officials said an anonymous threat was made against the school.

Students at the high school were asked to fill out an online survey, according to Granbury Police Department Chief Mitch Galvan. One person used a private computer after school hours and posted intent to "shoot up the school" and made general threats, such as "people are going to die tomorrow" and "I'm killing kids tomorrow."

"While this is likely not a genuine threat, we will take extra security precautions," Granbury High School principal Jeremy Ross stated.

Police are trying to track down the commenter, but Galvan admitted it would be difficult because of the website's encryption.

School will continue as usual, according to Ross, but with an increased police presence for the next few days.

"The safety of our students and staff is our priority," he said. "But we will not be bullied into a state of fear."[[301799291,C]]
