Amber Alert Suspect Faces Kidnapping Charges

Investigators haven't found documents proving Davis is Hanna's father.

North Richland Hills police have filled kidnapping charges against a man accused of abducting a 6-year-old girl.

Hanna Renee Mcbride was reunited with her mother, while Matthew Dylan Davis, 28, was taken into custody Friday night after state troopers located his vehicle on Interstate 20 and FM 4 in Palo Pinto County.

An Amber Alert was issued for Hanna after Davis picked the child up from school and then refused to return her to her mother, police said.

Police said Hanna's mother told investigators that Davis was a "family friend" who picks her up from school everyday and baby-sits her at least three hours. The child's mother told police that Davis threatened to kill both of them in a telephone call at about 5 p.m. Thursday.  She didn't report what happened until about 10 a.m. Friday.

Although Davis sister, Andrea Hertz, told reporters Friday that he is Hanna's father and that Hanna lives with him, investigators said they have not found any documents proving that Davis is Hanna's father or that he has any custodial rights, the Star-Telegram reported Monday.
