Missing Infant Found; Amber Alert Canceled

Father accused of taking child from mother's car in Dallas parking lot.

Dallas police said a 10-month-old boy who was allegedly abducted by his father Wednesday has been found.

Police issued an Amber Alert on Wednesday afternoon after Manuel Bolanos allegedly took his 10-month-old boy from his mother by force.

Investigators took Bolanos into custody shortly after 6 p.m. after locating him in East Dallas.

The baby was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor cuts to his face and arms that do not appear to be serious, police said.

Investigators said the mother broke up with Bolanos, her boyfriend, took their 10-month-old son, Manuel Bolanos Jr., and left their Lewisville home Wednesday morning.

The woman told police Bolanos followed her and then rammed her car at a stoplight at Regal Row and Interstate 35E. She said he got out of his car and smashed the driver's window in and went around to the passenger side and smashed out the rear passenger window.

When the light turned green, she drove to a nearby parking lot to get help. When she stopped, Bolanos boxed her car in and grabbed the child out of his car seat through the broken window.

When he grabbed the baby, Bolanos may have cut the child on the broken window, police said.

Bolanos then put the baby in his car and drove away, police said.

Police said Bolanos had threatened to harm himself and the baby.

Bolanos will be charged with injury to a child and two warrants out of Waco, police said.
