Mother, Son at Center of Amber Alert Found Dead Inside Car

The mother and son at the center of an Amber Alert issued late Friday afternoon were both found dead inside her parked car about an hour later, police say.

Investigators were called to a downtown parking garage at about 6:36 p.m. Friday after someone reported finding two unresponsive people inside a car.

First responders arrived and determined the woman and child, later identified as 6-year-old Phillip Oliver 'Ollie' Wiedemann and 46-year-old Candace Rochelle Harbin, were dead.

The Amber Alert was issued at about 5 p.m. Friday afternoon after the boy's father, John Wiedemann, contacted police earlier in the day, at about 9 a.m., concerned about the disappearance of his son and the boy's mother.

The boy's parents were estranged, officials said.

After attempts to locate the woman and child were unsuccessful, an Amber Alert was issued with police saying they believed the child to be in grave or immediate danger.

As the investigation into the deaths is ongoing, police have not released any further details about how the mother and her son died.
