Addison Office Building Reopened After Evacuation

A five-story Addison office building is open again after being evacuated Monday morning when an employee reported finding a suspicious package.

Police said the employee, who worked inside The Spectrum building at 15301 Spectrum Road, opened a box delivered over the weekend and noticed tubing and other items inside.

Finding the contents suspicious, the employee notified police and the building was evacuated.

Bomb squads from the Dallas and Richardson police departments were called in to assist in the investigation as was Dallas Fire-Rescue's hazmat team.

Investigators determined a refrigerator filter was inside the box and allowed everyone back inside the building.
