Wrong-Way Crash Closes I-30 During Rush Hour

A car going the wrong way on eastbound Interstate 30 in Dallas collided with an 18-wheeler Friday just after 3 a.m. at the 2nd Avenue ramps, forcing crews to shut down all eastbound lanes through rush hour.

The driver of the sedan was pulled out of her car and rushed to the hospital in critical condition, according to Dallas County Sheriff's deputies.

Hazmat crews had to clean up diesel fuel that leaked out of the 18-wheeler, which was towed away just before 6 a.m.

Traffic from the morning commute slowed to a crawl, but westbound lanes of traffic were not delayed.

Investigators have not said why the woman was driving the wrong way.
