Woman Seeks to Return 1967 Richardson Class Ring

Ring found while cleaning her mother-in-law's home

A Richardson woman is trying to find the owner of a 1967 class ring.

Edith Evans found a class ring belonging to a woman with the initials "P.J." while cleaning out the house of her mother-in-law, who recently died.

The ring is gold and has a purple stone with an eagle inside. The initials "P.J." are engraved inside the band.

Evans believes the initials stand for Pat or Patsy Johnson. She went to the Richardson Public Library and looked at school yearbooks in an effort to find the ring's owner.

Evans said it's important for her family to return the ring because pieces of jewelry are precious memories.

"I have some of my mother's jewelry," she said. "When I wear it, I know my mother wore it, so it felt important."
