Woman Accused of Stabbing Roommate to Death in North Richland Hills

A North Richland Hills woman is facing a capital murder charge after police say she stabbed her roommate to death.

In a news release Friday, North Richland Hills police said they were asked on Nov. 4 to perform a welfare check at the apartment of 59-year-old Kathleen Downey Olson.

When officers arrived at the woman's apartment on Glenview Drive, they found her covered body in the bathtub with several apparent stab wounds.

Olson's roommate, 37-year-old Julie Marie Peterson, was arrested in connection with Olson's death, though a motive has not been disclosed.

Investigators said Peterson may have also removed some of Olson's personal items from the residence, including her vehicle.

Peterson has been arrested on a warrant for capital murder and is being held on $1 million bond.
