Wendy Davis Speaks to Associated Press Editors in Texas

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis is speaking at the Associated Press Managing Editors annual meeting.

The Fort Worth senator will address newspaper and broadcast editors from across the state and take their questions Saturday in Corpus Christi.

Davis is campaigning against Republican nominee Greg Abbott in November's election. Gov. Rick Perry is retiring after his current term ends.

The race has intensified since Davis and Abbott won their party's nominations, with both campaigns debating women's rights, public education and fiscal responsibility. The race is expected to be on the most expensive in state history.

The Associated Press is a not-for-profit cooperative owned by American newspaper and broadcasters, and the states' top editors will have a chance to question Davis during Saturday's meeting.
