Warehouse Catches Fire in Irving

Nearly two dozen people were evacuated as Irving firefighers battled a 2-alarm fire at an industrial building Monday morning.

Firefighters were first called to the warehouse on the 6600 block of North Belt Line Road at about 10:15 a.m.

The fire was contained to an empty space under construction inside a large warehouse. Adjacent businesses were evacuated as firefighters battled the fire.

A black, burned section of the roof was visible from Chopper 5.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed, but firefighters said the fire was likely caused by welders working on a construction project.

No injuries have been reported.
