This is just beautiful.

Saturday night, the East Lake Pet Orphanage — a homeless pet shelter in the White Rock Lake part of Dallas — threw its annual fundraiser party called Wine on the Roof. During said party, officials with ELPO presented the organization’s John LaBella Award, which it bestows on humans who go above and beyond in their care, treatment, and advocacy for pets.

Loretta Swit — yup, Hot Lips — received one of the awards Saturday night, and Richard Hunter got the other.

You remember Hunter, right? He and his wife adopted a dog named Mel who once served as a bait-dog in Michael Vick’s dog-fighting ring. Hunter also called out Dallas Mayor-for-the-time-being Dwaine Caraway for giving Vick, a convicted felon, a key to the city during Super Bowl week.

Well, amid all the fundraising and award-giving at Saturday night’s ELPO throwdown, Dallas City Councilwoman Angela Hunt bestowed a different kind of key to the city, this one edible and intended for Mel.

A. Men. Sister. Check the video. Greatness.

Hey, Dwaine, bite it.
