Suspected Burglar Arrested After Police Chase

Garland and Richardson police officers arrested a man police say led them on a chase Wednesday morning into a residential neighborhood.

Authorities said the chase began at about 10:45 a.m. when an officer witnessed the burglary of a home in the 5800 block of Frankford Road.

Police said the suspected burglar drove away in a silver car, driving on several roads north of Dallas as officers followed.

The driver turned onto Collins Boulevard from North Shiloh Road in Garland before speeding down Strother Lane where he slowed the car before jumping from the moving vehicle at about 11 a.m.

The man tried to escape officers on foot by running between the houses, but was eventually cornered and arrested a block away near a home on Brookwood Lane.

Police have not yet revealed the man's identity or said what charges he'll face.
