Two Companies Make Major Job Cuts in North Texas

UPS cuts 135 employees, Dean Foods making "significant" cuts

Two employers are slashing jobs across North Texas.

Dallas-based dairy company, Dean Foods, has cut a "significant" amount of jobs at its Dallas headquarters, reports the Dallas Morning News.

A majority of the cuts were from the support team for the Fresh Dairy Direct unit as part of a series of cuts the company has made. That unit is responsible for producing fluid milk.

The company has not said how many jobs they plan to slash in total, however, they will release the details later in a federal report.

Meanwhile, UPS is laying off 135 employees at a local processing center as it moves from Carrollton to Scranton, Pa.

UPS said employees can apply for their old jobs, but they will be responsible for covering the cost of their own moving expenses.
