Dallas Firefighters Extinguish Two-Alarm High-Rise Fire

Dallas firefighters extinguished a two-alarm fire at a downtown high-rise building Friday afternoon.[[369477742,L]]

The fire was reported just before 4 p.m. in a trash chute outside a building on the 500 block of South Ervay Street, a block east of Dallas City Hall.

Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said the cause of the fire is unknown, and there have been no injuries reported.

The fire was under control by about 4:30 p.m., and Evans said firefighters cleared the scene by 7 p.m.

Minor damage was reported to the interior of the building on the third, fourth and seventh floors.
