Two Adults Accused of Forcing Child Into Prostitution

Mother and her boyfriend jailed

A Houston-area man and his girlfriend have been accused of forcing her 14-year-old daughter into prostitution at truck stops and apartments.

Court documents indicate Reynaldo Alaniz of Pasadena and the girl's mother were jailed on charges of compelling prostitution and human trafficking, in alleged incidents last summer.

Prosecutors on Monday said both adults were arrested Jan. 26 when a neighbor called police after noticing the girl near a street. The neighbor said the girl was barefoot and seemed hungry.

Alaniz has been denied bond. The mother, who allegedly also was a prostitute, faces bond of $60,000.

No details were immediately available on attorneys for the pair.  The woman's identity, and that of her daughter, are not being reported to protect the teen.

Further details on the girl, who had been living with her mother and her grandfather, weren't immediately available.
