A truck was pulled out of Mountain Creek Lake in Dallas following a chase with police, officials say.[[311503291,C]]

The pursuit started as a routine traffic stop in Grand Prairie at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

When a gray Ford F-150 pickup wouldn't pull over, the chase began.

Officers attempted to use spike strips to stop the truck, but instead, the driver tried to run over an officer. The officer wasn't hit.

Police said the driver and passenger inside the truck threw drugs and a gun out of the window during the pursuit.

The pair intentionally drove into the lake, where they threw drugs into the water, according to officers at the scene. Divers are searching the lake for evidence.

Police arrested both the driver and the passenger. They will be booked into Grand Prairie Jail. Their names have not been released.

No one was injured.
