Truck Driver Killed After Being Crushed by Pipes

A truck driver crushed by his load of huge pipes died Tuesday afternoon.

The driver, Aaron Sipp, stopped along U.S. 75 near McDermott Drive in Allen at about 9:15 a.m. to inspect the load of pipes he was carrying. For some reason, several of the 2,100 pound pipes rolled off of the truck and onto his body.

Sipp was pinned against the road by several of the pipes, his legs severely crushed by the weight.

Awake and alert for the 45 minutes he was trapped, shock began to set in as rescuers franticly worked to free him.

Once free, Sipp was transported by CareFlite to Parkland Hospital at about 10 a.m.

The incident is being classified as an industrial accident.
